Abstract: There have been found 33 species of parasitic fleas,which belong to 20 genera,5 families,on small-size animals,bodies and in their lairs in Liaoning Province.The distribution of parasitic flea species is related to that of small-size animals,and is affected and confined by ecological and geographical conditions. There is difference in species distribution of parasitic flea due to difference in host distribution of different areas.On the other hand,there is also difference in the species composition of parasitic flea on the same host species in different ecological conditions and geographical regions. The dominant species of domestic rodents is Rattus norvegicus and there are 5 species of parasitic fleas on ot.The dominant species in most areas is Monopsyllus anisus,the second is Xenopsylla cheopis. The dominant species of wild rodents are Cricetulus barabensis,Apodemus agrarius and Citellus dauricus.There are 7 species of parasitic fleas on Cricetulus barabensis,and the dominant species in most areas is Neopsylla bidentatifomis,the next is Ophthalmopsylla kukuschkini.There are 5 species of fleas on Apodemus agrarius,and in most areas the dominant species is Neopsylla bidentatiformis,the second is Ctenophthalmus congeneroides.There are 11 species of fleas on Citellus dauricus and the dominant species in every area is Citellophilus tesguorum sungaris,the next is Neopsylla bidentatifomis.
