Abstract: Objective To investigate the molluscicidal effect of niclosamide and its mixture with the extract of Alternanthera philoxeroides.Methods The immersion method was used in this study.Oncomelania hupensis was immerses in different concentration of A.philoxeroides extract and the mixed solution of 0.0625 mg/L niclosamide and different concentration of A.philoxeroides extract at(22±2)℃ in the laboratory.After treatment for 24 h and 48 h,investigate the up-climbing,operculum closing and mortality of O.hupensis.Results The LC₅₀ of A.philoxeriodes solution was 338 mg/L after treatment for 24 h.However,its LC₅₀ reduced to 116 mg/L after 0.0625 mg/L niclosamide and different concentration of A.philoxeriodes solution mixled.The synergism ratio exceeded 3.The operculum closing rate of O.hupensis was more than 76.7% within 30 min at the concentration of 800 mg/L,which would effectively restrain the up-climbing of snail.Conclusion The extract from A.philoxeroides could effectively kill snail and restrain its up-climbing.0.0625 mg/L niclosamide could greatly enhance the killing effect of A.philoxeroides.
