Abstract: Objective To realize the distribution characteristics of Aedes albopictus larva in Guangzhou,which is the basic for the surveillance and control of natural population of Ae.albopictus.Methods Water containers or receptacles where Aedes larva breeded in different environments were detected in 2004 and 2005 in Guangzhou.The data that related to the larva distribution characteristics were analyzed by statistics.Results The kinds of water receptacles' distribution proportion in different environments varied remarkably.The proportion of plant containers was the highest in residential area,was 44.68%.The distribution features of water containers breeding Aedes mosquitoes varied in different environments in Guangzhou.Conclusion The larva distribution characteristics of Ae.albopictus varied remarkably in different environments.The understanding for the distribution characteristics and proportions of different kinds of water container breeding Ae.mosquitoes in different environments is meaningful for efficient surveillance and control of Ae.albopictus population.
