Abstract: Objective To study species distribution and classification of C.fascipennis section. Methods Using mosquito net trap,light trap and insectnet capture to collect midges. Results There were 13 species of C.fascipennis section known in China. The diagnosis of C.(Oecacta) fascipennis section was described. Mean values of certain numerical characters and distribution of species known in China were recorded. The keys of female and male of C.(Oecacta) fascipennis section were given. Conclusion Basis of faunal distribution and classification of C.(Oecacta) fascipennis section in China are provided.
