Abstract: Objective To learn the morphological characteristics of red fire ant in Wuchuan,Guangdong and compare the characteristics with those in other countries. Methods Both field survey and lab investigation were used to study the stages of the red fire ant and nest figure. Results The morphological characteristics of egg,larva,pupa and adult of the ant were given. Diagnostic characterisitics of adult were described. A mature nest is alveolate,and form big mound with (26.00±7.42) cm high,and (82.00±41.04) cm diameter on average of thirty random samples. which size far excess of other ants'. Conclusion There are many same morphological characteristics between red fire ant in Wuchuan,Guangdong and introduced Solenopsis invicta.
