Abstract: Objective Studies were made on immunological reaction induced by Dermacentor nuttalli resisting Dermacentor silvarum.Methods Rabbits were immunized with midgut antigens of Dermacentor nuttalli and bitten by nymphae and female adults of Dermacentor silvarum.Results The average blood sucking time of nymphae was prolonged for 27.29 h ;the blood sucking time of adults was not affected obviously;exuviating rate of the nympha reduced to 26.7% ;oviposition rate of the adults reduced to 41.09%;hatching rate of the eggs reduced to 19.0%.Conclusion The immunological reaction induced by midgut antigens of Dermacentor nuttalli can resist Dermacentor silvarum evidently.
