Abstract: Amopheles minimus is one of the main vectors of malaria in southeast Asia. Recent studies have been continued on morphology, ecology, genetic, esterase isozyme and contagion of plasmodiums. In this paper, random amplified polymorphicDNA(RAPDs)were used to estimate genetic relationships and identification of 30 Anopheles minimus from geographic population in Thaland, Guangxi province and lingcang China. Molecular phylogenetic tree derived from genetic distance suggested that the RAPDs are most related to geographic condition. There were genetic divergences among different geographic population. There results indicate that the RAPD technique will be useful in studies of mosquito molecular toxonomy and in epidemiologic studies of the relatedness of geographic population and vector movement.
